Illinois Energy Development Park

The Energy Development park (formerly Coal Development Park) is a research and development complex located in Carterville, Illinois. The Park is maintained and operated by the Advanced Coal and Energy Research Center at SIU Carbondale. The Park's operation and maintenance is supported by Energy Boost.

The complex consists of laboratory and administrative space as well as a high bay building large enough for pilot projects to demonstrate the commercial application of new technologies. The park provides office space with a variety of office sizes and configurations currently available. Learn about amenities and location of the Park.

The Illinois Energy Development Park has housed numerous clean coal technology projects including federal, state, and privately funded projects exploring advanced mining technologies such as fine coal cleaning, coal industrial park demonstrations, and novel coal combustion by-product utilization.  Read more about Current Activities at the Park
